Editorial reviews

"A Scandal in Bohemia" served as many Victorian readers' introduction to ingenious investigator Sherlock Holmes, even though he spends much of the story in disguise. It was the first Holmes story published in The Strand Magazine and was the first story included in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (1892). Holmes' uncanny powers of deduction prompt his associate Dr. Watson to declare that, "You would certainly have been burned if you had been born a few centuries ago".

The incomparable audio actor Edward Raleigh performs this tale of Bohemian kings, Scandinavian princesses, and American opera singers. Raleigh's classical British accent captures the mastery, irony, and charming arrogance of Arthur Conan Doyle's heroic sleuth.
