About this listen

In the gripping new spy thriller from the Sunday Times bestselling author of Hitler's Secret, a Cambridge spy must unravel a dangerous mystery that goes all the way to the heart of the Third Reich—and the British Monarchy.

Sweden, 1942—Two old friends meet. They are cousins. One is Prince George, Duke of Kent, brother of the King of England. The other is Prince Philipp von Hessen, a committed Nazi and close friend of Adolf Hitler.

Days later, the Prince George is killed in a plane crash in the north of Scotland. The official story is that it was an accident—but not everyone is convinced.

There is even a suggestion that the Duke's plane was sabotaged, but with no evidence, Cambridge spy Tom Wilde is sent north to discover the truth . . .

Dramatic, intelligent, and brilliantly compelling, A PRINCE AND A SPY is Rory's best WWII thriller yet—perfect for fans of Robert Harris, C J Sansom and Joseph Kanon.

Very good historical evidence and excellent narration

Narration excellent and the story probably best of the series so far. Certainly supports the current war in the Middle East and the support of Israel

Excellent

My husband has both the books & audio in his library. A Prince and a Spy is my second audio book after listening to Corpus. I have truly enjoyed these books, a different genre to my usual, and Professor Tom Wilde I found to be an engaging lead. These books have made an hours journey both to and from my fathers house a time of pure relaxation that my soul truly required. I shall now go on to the third book. Thanks Rory, you’ve lifted my stressed being for 2 hrs each day.

Excellent story and narration.

I am thoroughly enjoying the Tom Wilde series, and can't wait for the next book to be released! Adam Sims' narration is spectacular, and I will give any book a go where he is the narrator. Rory Clements' story telling is well paced and a brilliant 'read'. I also like his notes at the end, providing extra information from his research. Highly recommended.

A Good Story and a Good Listen

I came to this book the wrong way; it's the fifth in a series and my first Rory Clements thriller. Now it's back to the beginning and I will work my way up. Mercifully, this novel works well as a stand alone although I'm sure I missed lots of nuance. All the same, I found it an entertaining and engaging story.

Other reviewers have bridled at the American narrator in an English setting but II didn't find this a distraction at all. I didn't become exercised by the occasional error in pronunciation of arcane British words or odd infelicities in the plot. Hey, it's a story. The author has worked hard to build psychological verisimilitude and the setting in time and place generally works well. [They all smoke too much!] The narration is also very confident and assured.
