Publisher's Summary
The new self-development programme from the author of the smash best seller The Chimp Paradox.
All of us face challenges, rough patches and struggles in life. And during these times we are often our own worst enemies, experiencing unwelcome emotions, thoughts and behaviours. The one thing that has stood out to Professor Peters in his years of supporting people as a Consultant Psychiatrist is that no matter what you may be facing in life, if you have the right mental toolkit in place then you will be able to cope - and even thrive.
Now, the best-selling author of The Chimp Paradox, has created a structured, practical self-development programme to help you attain psychological health and wellbeing. Professor Peters explains complex neuroscience in straightforward terms with his Chimp Mind Model. The eight stages of the book will help you to focus, empower yourself and lead you along a path to robustness and resilience.
“I sincerely hope that you will find the book helpful, and that the jungle of life will become much more manageable, as you find your own inner strength." (Professor Peters)

Great point of view on the mind
Extremely helpful concept. Read by the author in a very nice way, by making it sound like a lecture instead of just reading off a script, which makes it easier to keep track

Practical, accurate, applicable, sharable
Practical, accurate, applicable, sharable this book has the science, the case studies and the authors walk-talk passion for facilitating change in those who reach for it. No victim yet compassion.

BRILLIANT! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
It took me about three weeks to finish listening, because this book was so insightful that I couldn’t listen with distractions. After only hearing a couple of hours of it I was already more chill and less reactionary. By end of the book I get the task at hand and I’m loving applying the techniques learnt…. Cheers 😊

Personal insights into behaviour
Whilst this book feels a little ling winded and oversimplified at times, it has left me with new insights into myself and the people around me.
i suddenly understand why I act like I do sometimes. I also gained clarity on some previous relationships that had puzzled me.
A worthwhile book.

EXPLANATION OF OUR MIND
This book is well worth the 9+ hours of listening, The explanation of what our mind is composed makes life a little easier to navigate and the small simple workshop questions asked truly do help. It helps reinforce how to really treat yourself about mentally and physically and that we all are good “humans”
