Publisher's Summary
Every step...
Paul Davis forgets things - he gets confused, he has sudden panic attacks. But he wasn't always like this.
Takes you closer...
Eight months ago, Paul found two dead bodies in the back of a coworker's car. He was attacked, left for dead, and has been slowly recovering ever since. His wife tries her best but fears the worst....
To the truth...
Therapy helps during the days, but at night he hears things - impossible things - that no one else can. That nobody else believes. Either he's losing his mind - or someone wants him to think he is.
Just because he's paranoid doesn't mean it's not happening....

Can’t stand the whining!
I have enjoyed books by Linwood Barclays but I couldn’t finish this book, the week and whining voice of both the protagonist and other characters spoiled what may have been a good book. Even though the main chapter was self absorbed it might have worked if his voice had not been so pathetic and other characters voices been more believably normal

Torn writing this review
I’m in two minds writing this. I really enjoyed the story and liked two of the main characters- Paul and Hannah. It’s just I guessed the ending in about chapter 2 or 3 . I kept hoping there was a huge twist and I guess there were a couple of surprises, however the main crux of the ending was very predictable. In saying that I still really enjoyed this book and the narrator was very good and easy to listen to.
I will try another book by this author as I enjoyed his style of writing. He doesn’t go into long details about places or people and I enjoyed that quality.
