About this listen

Orphaned during World War II, Roger MacKenzie Wakefield believed that his mother died during the London Blitz, and that his father, an RAF pilot, was killed in combat. But this may not be the whole story.

this novella fills in a huge gap

I listened to this twice consecutively. after the long books normally presented this little novella was a shock. It was packed with information you wouldn't ordinarily gather if you left it out of the sequence of outlander books.
Having a different narrator made it fresh and more about the men it represented. This book had valuable insight into Rogers background. Also now I question Frank Randall's character. Is he truly the devil who reincarnated many times to direct this families tragedies. He seems to always be in control whether as Frank or as Jack.
