Great back story

The back story should have been at the forefront, it was a good story. But it was over shadowed by the so called love scenes.There’s way too many explicit love scenes some taking whole chapters. I read novels for the story not to be made uncomfortable by that level of information over and over.
I’m sure the authors imagination runs wild in these moments. It feels like you’re listening to The Joy of Sex instead of a period novel.
I liked the female narrator who did a good job.
My least favourite so far.
