About this listen

New York Times bestselling author Jude Deveraux will capture your heart with this miraculous time slip romance between a modern woman and a literal knight.

Dougless Montgomery has tried everything to achieve the perfect balance between self-sufficient and sexy, independent and agreeable—exactly the kind of girl she thinks a man would want. Still, she finds herself weeping upon a cold tombstone in an English church, rejected and abandoned by her boyfriend on a vacation she planned. Suddenly, Nicholas Stafford, Earl of Thornwyck appears before her but according to his tombstone, he died in 1564.

Despite their shock and the countless differences between a 20th-century girl and a 16th-century nobleman, Dougless and Nicholas are drawn together by a bond that defies reason. Dougless has finally found what she’s been searching for: someone who does not seek to change her, who finds her perfect, fascinating, just as she is.

But neither is prepared for the strength of their ties to the past…or the grand adventure that lies before them. Hailed worldwide as one of the most romantic novels of all time, A Knight in Shining Armor is “the epitome of every woman’s fantasy” (Daily Herald, Chicago).

Interesting story but just missed the mark. The lead character gets a bit annoying at times and the end was not a good fit.

interesting idea

Well, I expected more. The ending is terrible. I actually had to check twice my player to understand that the book ended.... It felt like an abrupt paragraph... i find it very unbelievable, that a person ( male or female) that have just lost the love of their life would just as easily fall in love with a new slightly different version of it. All the crying of Douglas.... Bad and unrealistic at all. She is painted as such a weak character, that is half the time blind to all the crazy faults of other men, that in stead to liking her, I feel sorry for the poor stupid girl.... And if she is not stupid and blind, then she is such a "wedding chaser"... As if the most important thing in her life is to get married and never mind to what idiot. The love story is actually beautiful, but the ending leaves you with a bad taste and it's a pitty. The narration was fine, although I didn't like the female "voices" so much - too whinny for my taste. I've read several books by Jude Devaraux , and this is by far the worst. As I said - disappointing.....

Unfortunately disappointing.
