What price would you pay for fame?

Following a convention in the Scottish Highlands, eight social media influencers vanish without a trace, leaving their followers–and families–in a state of shock, and the police clueless as to their whereabouts.

And then, the livestreams begin.

Broadcast live from their squalid underground cells, the young influencers are forced into a sadistic battle for survival.

With each livestream, their captor pits them against each other in a twisted competition for likes. The influencer with the fewest positive reactions faces a gruesome end–live on camera.

As the likes increase and the death toll rises, DCI Jack Logan and his team must traverse both the Scottish wilderness and the darkest corners of the internet to try and save the remaining captives.

But how do you catch a killer who is always one click ahead?

A Killer of Influence is the 20th book in the multi-million selling DCI Jack Logan series from internationally bestselling Scottish crime author, JD Kirk.

Bloody marvelous!

The perils faced by DCI Logan and team had me quaking at times, but again JD Kirk delivers the perfect blend of suspense with a liberal dash of humour! These characters are so beautifully drawn that the threads of their development in previous episodes continue to be perfectly woven. The reader is left feeling like they’re sharing an inside joke with old friends. I hope they return soon…

Another winner!

From the first sentence I was engaged & it felt like I was home.
The storyline was brilliant, the ending a surprise.
Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Worth the wait

Another great story that keeps you guessing, if only Jack would make an honest woman of Shona

If I could give 10 stars I would

Over this long series I have grown to love the abundance of characters. Each book is like catching up with old friends, laughing and crying with them. And the theme of this book really made that shine! JD Kirk is truly one of the most talented writers who can seamlessly intertwine the drama and comedy of a sitcom and the intensity and emotion of a crime drama. And Angus king breathes pure life to these words. Cannot wait for the next one!

I hope JD Kirk and Angus King live forever

Or they train some young Tyler Neish-es to carry on after their demises. As we all grow old and eventually die... Because the pair of them together are ducking brilliant! (You know I can't publish Hoon's language on a review). They are beyond brilliant, they are epic. They save my ducking life sometimes! The free and authentic use of inner voices and outer expletives is truly refreshing. This is how life is meant to be expressed. Entertaining and yet, profound...

The relationships built in the stories.

I have loved listening to this series. Just re-listened to them all before reading number 20. This going strong.

JD Kirk does it again

Thrilling story that carefully weaves in all our favourite characters (and a couple of not so much liked) at just the right moment.
As usual avid followers of DCI Jack Logan and his team are kept in suspense to the very end; an end that I’ve never been able to predict!
Angus King gave the exemplary performance we’ve come to expect - he is the voice of these characters after all - he brings them to life.
Highly recommended and bring in the next!

Magical Story teller

Every book I have listened too or read by JD Kirk and Angus King have been totally absorbing. Fast moving exciting and characters like old friends. This Killer of influence should have to be the most complicated and enjoyable, I love the way JD manages to work in his other character like Hoon, DI Filsen and even refers to Dave Gatwoods D I Harry Grimm. This only makes the story more alive! Love them all and hope there will be a book 21❤️
