I like that the story is focused around hill house
I was really excited that hill house was to be in this book, the backstop to the characters is interesting, the witch concept I didn't enjoy. the house was haunted enough by Hugh crane that I feel that witches were added just so that it wouldn't be plagiarising the original book. I would have preferred it though. the book seems to drag in certain chapters. overall it was an enjoyable but not one that I would read again.

A Bit Lacking in Terror
Decent story though not as chilling as I was hoping. Generally the characters were rather unlikeable, whiny and self-involved and there was no real atmosphere and a definite lack of terror and dread, unlike its prequel by Shirley Jackson. The narration is good though very gravelly and rather ‘old’ sounding for the voices of 3 young people. Didn’t love the narrators singing.
