About this listen
In which, a 17-year-old apprentice dealer in rare books is sent from Paris to England by her father, to obtain incunabula and medieval books of devotion - and whatever secrets of political intrigue or finance may come to hand in the process. In the course of her business, though, Minnie meets Harold Grey (Lord John’s elder brother), the newly-widowed (and alarmingly deranged) Duke of Pardloe, and things fall out.
One of the two final novellas of Seven Stones to Stand or Fall.

Loved it
The reader captures the 'voice' of the characters perfectly.
This story expands on Lord John Grey's brother's story. Minnie meets Harold Grey, the newly-widowed Duke of Pardloe, and their interests become entangled.

This would make a great movie
I absolutely loved this book enough to listen a second time upon completion.
The main character Minnie was young intelligent and gutsy.
A perfect novella to get away from your own reality absorbed in intrigue and spice of young life.

A magnificent and intriguing story
The author gives another five star story. The heroine is intriguingly different, amazing for the times and very likeable. I also liked the hero and found all of the characters life like. A highly satisfactory ending. I loved this story.

I love this book
This is a brilliant story, depicting all the characters so clearly, and completely engaging the reader in the fortunes of Minnie and Hal. I know we see them appear in later books, but I would love to see more of Minnie.

There’s no author like DG
This a marvellous little read. Love, humour, intrigue all written with Ms Gabaldon’s inimitable flair. I love it start to finish!

A bit boring
I didn’t find it as riveting as some of her other books. And understand theses characters are part of the outlander universe but I’m not really sure how much a role they play was enough to write a novel about them
