About this listen

A Forgotten Affair is the story of Sagarika, who meets with a near-fatal accident on the day she decides to walk out of her marriage. She is severely injured in the serial bomb blasts in Mumbai's local trains and goes into a deep coma for months. Miraculously, she wakes up, only to realize she has no memory of her past.

As she recovers, she realizes that Rishab, who claims to be her husband, is evasive and steers away from her queries about their past. Much against her wishes, he takes her to his opulent Gurgaon bungalow, where a helping of maids look after her but do not aid her in finding any satisfactory answers about her life before the accident.

But what vexes her the most is the scent of men's perfume and a seemingly innocuous word: Cheeni. They jolt her blank mind, sending her into a frenzy of sorts. Why do they have such an effect on her? What is Rishab hiding, and why did he take her away from Mumbai? Faced with these questions, Sagarika can't help but wonder: did her accident erase the memory of something she cherished?
