About this listen
Madison Fox just learned her ability to see souls is more than a sight: It's a weapon for fighting evil. The only problem is she doesn't have a clue what she's doing.
On the positive side, her money problems are over, and her coworker is smoking hot. On the negative side, evil creatures now actively hunt her, and deadly experiences are becoming the norm.
When she thinks it couldn't get worse, a powerful evil sets up shop at a local hotel's video game convention, and it's got its eye on more than the gaming geeks - it's hungry for Madison's soul.
Madison needs to become an expert illuminant enforcer overnight to save her job, her region...and her life.
A Fistful of Evil is a fresh new-adult urban fantasy from the author of the well-loved Gargoyle Guardian Chronicles. For a wildly imaginative story packed full of supernatural horrors, kick-butt action, and laugh-out-loud moments, you won't want to miss this series starter.

Overall okay
It had good humour but dragged a bit, the author doesn’t seem to know what gamers are like at all or that the word nerd is no longer a insult and she got pg and pc mixed up which is a worry on the editors side but hey overall amusing and easy listen,

could've been better, dnf altho is a free title.
I got through about 60% of the book. I stopped listening because 1) story kept dragging on 2) used lots of unnecessary descriptors and metaphors about surroundings or people; she spent an inordinate amount of time painting gamers in a very negative light and alluded to the obvious poor judgement or lack of morals of gamers or people who attend conventions that attract demons (example: they probably dont even brush their teeth) 3) the author should've put more effort into describing or going into the magic aspect that dictates and pulled the main character into her new role as an IE; there's little to no effort put into the world building that the magic aspect is more of an after thought rather than the driving force that launches the fmc into her "new reality".
I try not to dnf books to give a better review, however, the fmc, and her perceptions of people, isn't my cuppa.
