About this listen

This is my last love letter to you, though some would call it a confession....

A deliciously dark retelling of Dracula, A Dowry of Blood is a saga of obsession, desire and the lengths to which we'll go to protect the ones we love.

Saved from the brink of death by a mysterious stranger, Constanta is transformed from a medieval peasant into a bride fit for an undying king. But when Dracula draws a cunning aristocrat and a starving artist into his web of passion and deceit, Constanta realizes that her beloved is capable of terrible things.

Finding comfort in the arms of her rival consorts, she begins to unravel their husband's dark secrets. With the lives of everyone she loves on the line, Constanta will have to choose between her own freedom and her love for her husband. But bonds forged by blood can only be broken by death.

Includes a bonus short story, "An Encore of Roses", which is set after the events of A Dowry of Blood.

Loved it MOSTLY...

I was looking forward to reading this being a fan of other vampire novels such as Anne Rices Vampire Chronicles and I did enjoy it . I wanted to love it and I did fall in love with Constanta and Alexie, but Magdalena and her forcing her way into being the MOST BELOVED just sat wrong with me..... call me old fashioned, but I'm not sure that's it...to me Dracula was very one dimensional, there was little to no back story as to why he was the way he was. I loved Alexie and also adored the second little story 'an encore of roses' I wrote this hurriedly sorry. I enjoyed much of it disliked some aspects of it and was enthralled by bits of it....the love making scenes were quite well written. wink. I like Kristen Atherton and her narration usually and she did well here except that some of it seemed over done and a little TOO exaggerated. But all in all great narration again. Ty.

A tale you want to hear

Everyone knows the story of Dracula, but not about his brides until now.

S.T. Gibson has weaved such a beautiful tragic story. Loved everything about this.

Kristin Atherton has done an amazing job bringing this story to life. I could listen to her all day.

Also has the bonus follow up short story which was wonderful to know what happen after.

eh?? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Can someone tell me what this book is about? Is there a plot that I missed? This story spans centuries and is about a vampire, his two brides, and a lover who shifts around a lot. That is it.
