Sequel to The Lightning-Struck Heart
Once upon a time, the wizard’s apprentice, Sam of Wilds, got his happily ever after in the arms of his cornerstone, Knight Commander Ryan Foxheart. A year has passed, and while Sam’s been captured five or six more times since then, things are pretty great. His parents are happy, Gary and Tiggy still eat sass for breakfast, Randall is somehow alive despite being older than the gods, the King rules with a gentle hand, Kevin the dragon is as gross as ever, Morgan sighs a lot, Ryan continues to be dashing and immaculate, and Sam is close to convincing Prince Justin they will be best friends forever. Life is good.
Until it’s not.
Because Vadoma, the leader of the gypsy clan and Sam’s grandmother, has come to the City of Lockes with a dire prophecy written in the stars: a man of shadows is rising and will consume the world unless Sam faces his destiny and gathers the five dragons of Verania at his side.
And she brings along her second-in-command, a man named Ruv. Ruv, who Vadoma says is Sam’s true cornerstone.

Phenomenal narration
Just keeps getting better!! I loved the introduction of a deeper plot and darker elements. It was a little jarring at times, the blending of what could be very dark elements with a ridiculous sense of humor, but I really loved it for that. It was unlike anything I've ever read/listened to before and that made it an even more amazing experience.
And oh my goodness that narration was AMAZING!!!!! So incredibly amazing!
I love Ruv. I kinda wanted to cry at times because it's so unfair, but I'm also so glad there was no love-triangle drama.
And Tiggy is still my favourite 😉

sweet molasses
in a really simple superficial explanation this series is Disenchantment meets the fab 5. the narrator brings life to the characters creating a fun, moving tale of adventure and love

loved it
Though the ending felt like like someone about to orgasm as your mother walks in the room...I mean wtf. I need closure :)
Also god this narrator is talented. He certainly makes Gary the star he is lol

Flora Bora Slam!!!! Amazing Story
Once again I have been willingly captured in this series, This series has become my personal favourite.
I have honestly laughed once again.
I found myself enticed and worried.
Watching Sam grown and develop as a wizard, overcoming unforeseen events & obstacles (from teenage emo dragons, grandmothers that bad touch you, the return of Tina!!, discovering why Morgan of Shadows is of the Shadows and so many more)
A nice touch this book added some of the history into some of the main characters.
Basically if you enjoyed the first book then prepare to enjoy this one as much, Sam has a way of making everyone love him even you the reader! And swooning over Knight Commander Ryan Foxheart!!
I enjoyed this book so much I plan to start listening to the third book right after I submitted this.

Voice actor deserves a medal for his performance
listening to this is honestly like listening to a tv show. the character voices are distinct and full of passion. And the story itself is hilarious! Total 100% crack, with plot.

Amazing!
Just when I thought the narration for this series couldn't get any better, Michael Lesley proves me wrong! Such an amazing story by TJ Klune, and Lesley really brings the world and characters to life. Highly recommend!
