About this listen
When Maud Marsh flings herself into George Bevan's cab in Piccadilly, he starts believing in damsels in distress. George traces his mysterious traveling companion to Belpher Castle, home of Lord Marshmoreton, where things become severely muddled. Maud's aunt, Lady Caroline Byng, wants Maud to marry Reggie, her stepson. Maud, meanwhile, is known to be in love with an unknown American she met in Wales. So when George turns up speaking American, a nasty case of mistaken identity breaks out. In fact, the scene is set for the perfect Wodehouse comedy of errors.

Charming, feel good story, good performance.
Quite an enjoyable story. I liked the performance, as well. Witty, pleasant and charming. I enjoy the Wodehouse lingo.

Wonderful Wodhouse
Witty, clever, delightful, engaging, hilarious, often Laugh Out Loud, Wodehouse. Satire at its best. The perfect tonic for a rainy day. And Jonathan Cecil is PERFECT.

If you like a tale of misunderstanding’s resulting in comedic situations, set in simpler times, with clever dialogue and loads of charm. This story is joyfully the one.

Charming story of mistakes, disapprobation from family and the course of true love
Mistaken identity, assumption and family machinations all come together to make a truly amusing and uplifting story of finding the right one in the least likely of places.

Wodehouse Never Disappoints! Simply Charming!
For turn of phrase, whimsy, gentle humour and old world charm, Wodehouse can’t be beaten. His books take one to a slower, more delightful time. Then again I’m biased as I’m yet to hear or read a book of his that I’ve not enjoyed immensely.

Lighthearted diversion
Most enjoyable. Best for oldies. Silly story, of course, rather dated, but still fun.
