Great book, terrible narrator!

I am a huge fan of Sarah J Maas and read this series on my kindle 2 years ago. I recently started a job that requires a lot of driving and decided to try audiobooks. I just finished listening to the Throne of Glass Series narrated by Elizabeth Evans, which is 10/10.
I purchased this book and from the first chapter I was so incredibly disappointed with the narration. I made it to chapter 15 before I switched to my kindle to finish the book. The narrators voice is so monotone and robotic. It is a bit easier to get through in the beginning, but once Tamlin and Lucien are more present, it is very hard to differentiate between their “voices”. I also found it hard to know when the characters were speaking at all, as there was no clear difference in the narrators voice. Lastly, the long pauses between sentences left me feeling like I was wasting my time. I feel like there would be at least 30 minutes of lengthy and unnecessary pauses throughout the whole book if it was all added up.
I absolutely love this series, but I am so disappointed that I spent money on this audible version. I will be steering clear of this narrator.
I am not one to normally post negative reviews, but I just wanted to warn other listeners in my position.

Fairytale dream!

Loved this story. I did struggle a bit at first because I kept finding similarities with this and Beauty and the Beast. But of course, once I pushed past that I fell in love with the characters and the slow but steady build the story had over all.

Loved It!

Well written and well read.
The lead in was ok, maybe a little long, but not enough to make me stop listening. And I am so happy I continued. The storyline and character building for Thorns & Rose's is excellent. Absolutely loved the narrator.
You will lose yourself in this book and definitely left me wanting to hear more

It’s better than what I thought

I looked at getting this book for ages, but I didn’t think I would of like it but my friend told me to get it and it’s a whole ride into another world that you can’t get from only listening to it for 5mins

Loved this book

A great story. Has the flavour of beauty and the Beast and the book Spinning Silver. Good narrator, good pace, good story.

Love this book

This is one of my favourite books ever! But really disappointed by the narrator as her voice was very annoying.. hopefully the rest of the series is narrated by a different person
