Publisher's Summary
Orphaned. Trained to fight. Raised to fear the power of Underhill. Secretly in love with a man who doesn’t want me.
I’m still just Alli, a.k.a. the half-human orphan fae, but my life is looking up for the first time. It only took me my whole 24 years. But when Underhill - the ancestral home of the fae - shatters, making it impossible for any fae to enter, I’m the only one who knows who did it. A secret that will be the death of me if I do nothing.
A brutal madness spreads through the fae as they lose their connection to Underhill, and to save my people, my only choice is to leave all I have fought for and go on the run. Unless I figure out how the hell magic that has existed since the dawn of time was destroyed with a single touch.
Well, an entire life spent fighting to prove myself isn’t going to mean anything at all. I must find the answer to the riddle of Underhill’s shattering. Hunted by the very man I loved once upon a time.
If you love Jennifer L. Armentrout, Sarah J. Mass, Holly Black or Elise Kova, you will love this dive into a world of the fae, forbidden love, and a story that will leave you breathless for more.

Welcome Ho**
If you're keen in the Fae worlds, romance smoosh, action battles, hilarious one-liners, brilliant twist at the end, and narrated by the glorious Elizabeth Evans, this Fantasy book is sooo recommended. The blend of Fae living with humans was well done. Really enjoyed this book, looking forward to part 2.

good character development
This book hits the ground running, there's never a dull moment. The main character is very relatable. The story is kinda predictable for seasoned fae readers but it is exactly what I am looking for right now.

***UNSTOPABLE***
Loved it so much, fast paced full of witty one liners and sizzling chemistry and will dive straight to book 2. The amazing Elizabeth Evans is brilliant and so good to hear her voice again.

Buy this book and get swept away! just brilliant.
Loved every second. Just gets better and better! I just finished the 2nd book and can't wait for the 3rd.
I feel like anything Elizabeth Evans narrates, she's read and dubbed worthy of her superior narrating skills. This series is definitely worthy. Jumps straight in, but don't worry everything is explained- you'll see why.

Hard to follow, boring story and characters.
Nothing remarkable about this story, it is so hard to follow, I have to relisten to it, and it still isn't adding up. So she is 5, 10, in her teens and in her 20s, but so randomly switching ages. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it ended before anything interesting happened.

Interesting spin on fae fiction
The good:
- overall an interesting take on fae fiction.
- Interesting characters, intrigues, tensions and challenges.
-The main character has first nations ancestry.
- interesting dynamic between the main character and the love interest.
The bad:
- some inconsistencies detracted from the story. e.g. fae don't need to breathe vs. death by drowning.
I really wish the proof reading on this had been better.
- Really smart, old fae not seeing through intrigues.
- Not following some of the fae lore e.g. thanking fae is acceptable.
I don't regret spending a credit on this and would happily spend another on the next book.

Disappointing
2.5 stars for one potentially interesting character and a whole lot of nothing?
If not for Elizabeth Evans I might not have finished this book.
I picked this one up because The Bookish Box is doing a special edition of the series, but this book was just really bland. The premise wasn’t anything special (in fact it was even more of a bore than the blurb makes it sound) and the one character that peaked my interest was barely in the book. And when he was he really didn’t say much. Or do much other than wear a cloak?
Yep, Faolan is the only reason I’d pick up book two, and I can’t see him being enough to win me over to doing that any time soon. This book was just so dull. I’m not really a fan of a love triangle (snore!) but if the crumbs of that possibility had been more solidly established maybe the story would’ve been more interesting?
I really can’t say much about this book because it was just so unremarkable. Unfortunately it chalks up to another wasted credit. Really the only positive is that I won't be wasting my money on the limited edition set.
