Masterful story telling. I've loved it.
Kevin Hearne is doing something wonderful with these stories. Weaving together multiple voices from diverse characters in true bardic story telling fashion. It took me a little while to get into the first audiobook, but it is so worth persisting, and sorting out who is who. The voice actors are wonderful, bringing the tales to life. It is truly an epic tale, taking different perspectives and showing how people can be brought together, to understand each other, and change their world for the better. I can't wait for the third book. Highly highly recommend this series.

an interesting listen
It's an interesting and diverse world that Hearne has created here. Rich in culture and magic. Many of the characters are endearing & you can't help wondering how things will turn out for them. The narrator Luke Daniels is talented & I've listened to him speak on other titles. However here I find his tone & accents a bit too comedic and over the top for use in non-humorous scenes. Xe Sands provides a subtler performance for the female leads.

Nothing like the Iron Druid focused on death and loss
If you liked the Iron Druid, this has a very different tone focussed on death and loss
