Publisher's Summary
Will a threat to London’s life lead her to love?
London Scott’s routine, boring life gets a jolt when her niece discovers a woman’s body while out hiking with her boyfriend. It’s just her luck that it’s Sebastian Archer who investigates the murder. Having known the man since childhood, she’s always been the annoying tagalong. Even though she finds him drop-dead sexy, that’s a ship that can never sail now that she’s guardian to her niece and his goddaughter.
Two years ago, Seb moved home to take the position as local sheriff, ready for a slower pace and to be closer to his family. That included his best friend’s sister, London. The beautiful innkeeper had held his heart since they were young, but the timing never felt right to start something. When a serial killer murders a woman in his jurisdiction who bears a striking resemblance to London, Seb realizes he could lose her before they ever get a chance.
Will London’s reluctance to date the handsome sheriff deliver her into the hands of a psychopath?

great detective mystery with love
First time listening to this author and I have to say I totally enjoyed the detective mystery and had a good time working to solve it.
I started to figure it out at about chapter 15. I had suspicions but Ashley turned a corner and i lost my thoughts. Then little things were mentioned and I grabbed it again. There were some cool red herrings in this plotline.
Ashley did a great job of weaving lots of twists and turns and the pace was nicely clipped with some steam to give it some spice.
The finale became creepy and oh so eerie. The idea of this storyline was as angsty as it was clever. The emotional tension rolled on as the book drew to the end. I was feeling a little excited as i figured stuff out. It was Just brilliant .
The writing was done in a simplistic style making it easy listening, with the ability to understand and imagine the happenings of the characters.
I've never listened to Jenn Lee before but she was awesome. Her tone and inflection were brilliant breathing life into the story
