Crush (n.): a strong and often short-lived infatuation, particularly for someone beyond your reach . . .
Darcy Barrett found her dream man at age eight - ever since, she's had to settle for good enough. Having conducted a global survey of men, she can categorically say that no one measures up to Tom Valeska, whose only flaw is that he's her twin brother Jamie's best friend - oh, and that ninety-nine of the time, he hasn't seemed interested in her.
When the twins inherit their grandmother's tumble-down cottage, they're left with strict instructions to bring it back to its former glory. Darcy plans to leave as soon as the renovations start, but before she can cut and run - her usual MO - she finds a familiar face on her porch: Tom's arrived bearing power tools, and he's single for the first time in almost a decade.
Suddenly Darcy's sticking around. Sparks start to fly - and not just because of the faulty wiring. But a one percent chance with Tom is no longer enough. This time around, Darcy's switching things up. She's going to make Tom Valeska ninety-nine percent hers.

Amazing
I absolutely loved this book. Its beautiful and quirky and a true romance. It didn’t follow the usual cut and paste theme and I couldn’t stop listening to it. It was hard to tell sometimes between thoughts and the spoken word, but it was still so good. I think I’ll by the actual hard copy too, just so I can read and reread Sally’s beautiful words.

Very slow & tedious
This book is extremely slow, it takes 6 chapters to get through one evening in the story. I am not sure if I can finish it, very boring.

Great performance, average story.
Couldn't finish the story, the main character was so unlikable and miserable. Wasn't much happening most of the book.

Love Thorne's writing style, marred by narration
Really enjoyed this book, however due to narration, I found it extremely hard to distinguish whether Darcy was speaking or just having an internal monologue.

A bit predictable, but lovely
A very easy romance listen. Would recommend over the Hating Game. Not safe for work - just a little raunchy

Soooooo bloody good!!!
The narrators voice matched Darcy perfectly!!! I loved Darcys persona. And wowee the way she described Tom = hot!!!! I want to be her. I want him haha. I loved The Hating Game and she didn't disappoint with this one either. I'm going to keep Sally Thorne in my favourites just waiting for her next masterpiece!!! And the epilogue to The Hating Game made my heart go badump!

Great story
Ive been listening to a lot of dual narration stories, and I enjoyed that this was was just from the female character, it added a veil of mystery from his actions. It was a great story and I couldn't stop listening.

Good not great.
Whilst the book was well written it didn't have me desperate for more like The Hating Game did. The book is a lot of lusty conversation but has minimal plot. The narrator was great but at times it was hard to distinguish between external and internal thoughts of the main character. The audiobook ends with an additional epilogue for The Hating Game but seemed unnecessary.
