About this listen

While singleness is often widely misunderstood by many in the church today and often viewed in negative terms, the Bible speaks about it very differently. This book sets forth a positive vision of singleness by responding to seven common misconceptions, such as the notion that singleness is too hard, requires a special spiritual gift, is a hindrance to ministry, or is a waste of sexuality. Addressed to the church as a whole and written by a single pastor, 7 Myths About Singleness will help listeners better understand, support, and empower the singles around them to contribute to the flourishing of the church as a whole.

Helpful for understanding

I’ve always been really invested in being married, but this book helped me balance my view and understand some of the troubles of marriage and benefits of singleness. However it does also give a sobering presentation of some of the troubles of singleness, and can help you in your evaluation of these two pathways, or to understand your single friends better.

Narrator muffs it a bit.

There’s a few words in this that are obviously British that the narrator hasn’t checked the pronunciation of ... and is it just me, or does that include the author’s name?! 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ GREAT book though.

Really really good

I finished it in 2 days. Easy to listen to. The authors gives reason from the Bible and provide concrete examples of how to put it into practice. I am planning to re-listen to it.
