ハーバート・ジョージ・ウェルズ（Herbert George Wells）
1866年にイギリスに生まれる。ロンドンの科学師範学校（現インペリアル・カレッジ）に入学。トマス・ヘンリー・ハクスリーのもと、生物学などを学び、特に進化論に大きな影響を受けた。その後、教師として勤めながら1895年、『タイムマシン』でデビュー。「モロー博士の島」、「透明人間」、「宇宙戦争」などのSF小説を生み出し、ジュール・ヴェルヌとともに「SFの父」と呼ばれる。©2022 panrolling Science Fiction & Fantasy
