藤根さんという女性が十九歳の時にそれを体験している。
当時彼女の回りは、同輩も先輩も空前の出産ラッシュ。子供好きで友人の多かった藤根さんは誘われるたびに生まれたばかりの赤ちゃんを見に行き、抱っこしてそれは幸せにいた。
そんなある晩、彼女は夢を見た。最近赤ちゃんと接する機会が多かったためか夢の中でも赤ちゃんを抱いている。本来嬉しいはずの夢なのだが夢を見ている俯瞰の意識が「まずい」と警鐘を鳴らしている。
目が覚めた時、金縛りにあった藤根さんが目の当たりにしたのはこの世のものとは思えない異形のモノだった。©2020 Wataru shirotani
