今から14年ほど前、当時お付き合いしていた現在の妻Kさんと、Kさんの従妹のMさん、そしてMさんのご主人との四人はとても仲良く家族のような付き合いだった。
ところが少ししてMさん夫婦に子供ができたと連絡が入る。お互い子供がいないうちは頻繁に行き来していたが、大阪と奈良の距離感と子供の世話とで次第に会う頻度は落ちていき、六年の歳月が流れた。しばらくぶりにMさんからKさんに電話が入った。
