神田香織は、福岡県立磐城女子高校卒業後、東京演劇アンサンブル、渡辺プロダクションドラマ部を経て1980年、講談の神田山陽門下生となる。照明、音響を取入れた舞台作品として、一人芝居の要素を取入れた独自の講談を次々と発表、講談の新境地を切り開いた。文化の栄えた元禄時代、日本橋の菓子職人・六兵衛の聡明な娘“お秋”は七歳にして書と俳諧にすぐれ近くに住む宝井其角の弟子となった。“初雪や二の字二の字の下駄の跡”は彼女の作といわれる。十三歳になり上野に花見に行った折のこと、清水堂脇の井戸端で桜の枝に手を掛け危なっかしい足取りの酔っ払いを見て“井の端の桜あぶなし酒の酔(えい)”と詠んだ。この句が宮様の目にとまり招待を受ける。やがてお秋は俳諧指南の看板を掲げるプロとなり俳号を“秋色”と称した。その後、お秋は煎餅屋・秋色庵を開業し、この店は現存しているそうだ。(C)WING ENTERPRISE
