しかし、乗り込んだ船のスロウ号は大あらしに遭い、ある島へと打ち上げられます。船に乗っていた15人の少年たちはその島の調査に繰り出し、森の中に人の住居らしきものを見つけます。
そこを拠点にすることに決めた少年たちはスロウ号から移り住み、その島を「チェアマン島」と名づけて初代リーダーを決め、暮らし始めます。
しかしその1年後、次代リーダーを決める時になって仲たがいをしてしまう少年たち。そんななか、新しい遭難者を見つけたことで島に悪者がいることがわかり、仲を取り戻して一致団結し、
