I love words, shaping and weaving them into images, ideas, feelings and thoughts. So when I was pregnant for the first time, I started writing 'the Mindful Mother.' I wanted to understand how my body was transforming, my mind changing to make space for the glorious process of creation, the new human being growing inside me.
Whilst I found copious amounts of advice about how to 'do' pregnancy, I wanted to understand how to grow and inwardly open through this incredible time of my life. As someone who loves practising yoga and meditation, I was fortunate to enjoy and have time to explore my mind and body through movement and meditation during pregnancy, birth and out the other side as a mother to my children. And I wanted to share the yoga, meditation and mindfulness practices that I loved and found valuable during this time, along with exploring some of the issues and challenges that rose up along the way.
My inspiration is that ultimately, we are spiritual beings living in human form, something it's easy to forget as we're racing through our lives, when time feels scarce and we feel we are surviving on autopilot. The Mindful Mother aims to connect you to your inner spirit and innate beauty, and to infuse this into your new mothering life. We are incredible women who can create a deeply fulfilling journey through motherhood that embraces all of it, especially the less than perfect moments!
