Kim Roderiques, a long-time Cape Cod resident, is passionate about photographing people, places, and dogs.
With Max and Charlie Help A Hero, illustrations overlay Kim's photographs of Cape and Nantucket. Kim dedicates much of her work to the well-being of shelter dogs and wanted a portion of the proceeds of this book to go to the MSPCA. She also wanted to give a portion of the proceeds to local veterans' organizations.
Kim is the author of Dogs on Cape Cod, a coffee table book, featuring an extensive collection of dogs and scenic views from Provincetown to Sandwich. First photographing Cape Cod families (who inevitably had at least one dog) Kim’s pet portrait business soon grew significantly when people noticed her passion over their canines. Still shooting twenty years later, Kim never tires of the pure joy and elements of surprise that her work with dogs provides. Her photographs have been exhibited in the New England region and published in national magazines. She was featured on the television show, Chronicle. Kim dedicates much of her work to the well-being of shelter dogs.
Her photographs are in a new book, I Am of Cape Cod, which is authored by John Whelan and focuses on a cross section of people from different walks of life on Cape Cod.
Apart from her photographic career, Kim plays an essential role in the family business, The Trading Company, a fine clothing store in Chatham since 1976.
