Kate grew up in Houston, Texas, making up stories and illustrating them whenever she could. She studied architecture in college and traditional boat building through a post-college fellowship, after which she made her way out to Los Angeles to begin a career in animation. She has worked as a visual development artist at studios including Disney and DreamWorks TV. In her free time, she enjoys building furniture, biking around LA, and drawing wobbly buildings that look like they might fall down.
