Salman Rushdie once said “books choose their authors.”
Mine latched on and pushed for eight years until it came to life.
I spent much of my career as a newspaper reporter with the Columbus Dispatch. My heart was always into extensive investigations. I admit I was somewhat of a dog wanting to dig. I wasn't satisfied unless I had one large investigation (at least) going on at a time.
When many newspapers sadly began to decline, I was hired by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office as a senior investigator. This is where I became involved with the Bobby Thompson case. I worked on it for two and half years (under both Ohio Attorney General's Richard Cordray and Mike DeWine) before the office was able to hand it off to a federal task force who ultimately captured Bobby Thompson. I left and worked in communications before returning to journalism to serve as a producer with 10TV, a Columbus television station, for two years before transferring back to government communications.
I live in Columbus, Ohio, with my two sons, three dogs and a cat. (David, Andy, Air Bud, Titan, Darla and Charlie respectively.)
In addition to great reviews, one of the things I am most proud of with Master of Deceit was to be featured in a pod cast hosted by Frank Abagnale, famed author of "Catch Me If You Can." It is a three-part segment devoted to Cody and his crimes and Andes is interviewed for parts two and three.
