Emanuel Mian (1972) is an Italian psychologist, psychotherapist, and coach. With over 15,000 hours of experience in treating patients with eating disorders and body image issues, Dr. Mian is one of Italy's most experienced psychotherapists in this field. His research on body dysmorphia in eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating) has been featured in numerous congress communications, scientific publications, and popular media programs (FOCUS, SUPERQUARK). Author of several books, including "Fuga dallo Specchio" and the bestseller "Fuga dalla Bilancia" published by Feltrinelli, and "MindFoodNess," Dr. Mian is known for his practical approach to overcoming body dissatisfaction and emotional eating. He is the co-founder of Emotifood©, Italy's first clinical psychonutrition center, and developed the Body Image Revealer® (B.I.R. ®), a virtual tool for treating body image disorders. Inventor of the Emotifood© method for high-performance psychonutrition and the MindFoodNess© method for supporting people in their struggles with food, body, and emotions, Dr. Mian has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Pavia. Throughout his career, Dr. Mian has been the scientific director at Emotifood© centers, an honorary juvenile judge for the Court of Appeal of the Juvenile Court of Trieste, and coordinated various bariatric surgery teams at leading centers in Italy. His innovative methodologies, such as Smart-Therapy and Post Session Audio Feedback (PSAF), are designed to provide personalized and effective treatments for patients with eating disorders.
