I am Cynthia Eyeshemitan, a registered Social Worker with over a decade on the job experience. I work in the Child welfare sector in Canada. My area of specialty includes, but not limited to child sexual abuse, program designing/evaluation, policy analysis & strategic planning, global addictions, mental health and trauma and psychotherapy. I hold Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees in social work from the renowned University of Manitoba, Winnipeg.
I have researched and written many academic papers in different areas, such as child welfare system, child sexual abuse etc. However, "Child and Family Disservices: Objective Perspective Inside the System" is my first publication. This book takes a look at the cross-cultural perspective, using a social justice lens in examining the child welfare system in Canada.
I am a mentor and youth counsellor in my community. In addition, I am a proud recipient of the Youth Role Model Award from Citizen Equity Committee of Winnipeg, Manitoba. I have participated in organizing many community outreaches programs in effort to raise awareness of Sexual Violence, Addictions and Domestic Violence (SAD). When I am not coaching, researching or writing, I dance and cook for leisure. I am Married with two gorgeous children.
