I am the author of The Turn, a comedy-drama-redemption novel set in the world of amateur golf, a story that deals with family, loss, addiction, career crisis, relationships and other midlife misadventures. During the four years I spent working on The Turn, I played more than four hundred rounds of golf, lowered my handicap by fifteen strokes, made two aces in the span of thirty-three days, lost twenty pounds, and ended my thirty-year run with alcohol.
