About this listen

They're free of the White House, but can their forbidden romance survive in the real world?

With his father no longer president, 22-year-old Rafa Castillo can finally be with ex-Secret Service agent Shane Kendrick. Shane's given up his career for Rafa, a move his fellow agents question the sanity and morality of. Eager to get away from the questions and judgment, Rafa and Shane are building a new life together in Australia. Though Shane struggles with nightmares and his overprotective instincts while Rafa fights his own insecurity, they love each other more than ever.

Now they just have to get through a visit from the former president and first lady.

Rafa's parents certainly don't approve of his romance with 40-year-old Shane, and they're determined to make him see reason. They don't see how their son could possibly be happy settling down with an older man, and they question Shane's motives. Shane and Rafa just want a normal life together - but when they must suddenly battle for survival, they fight to prove their fierce love can withstand any threat.

Contains mature themes.

Brilliant!

I fell into the pages and didn’t come out till I read, The End.
A beautiful book, wonderfully written, and paced very well.

This was a beautiful journey where I met Rafael Castillo and Shane Kendrick.

Read the book and then listened to the audiobook where the magnificent narration by Iggy Toma brought the book to another level, an easy 5 stars from me both the audiobook and the book.

Please Iggy !!!

This duology was a good light listen until all of a sudden my ears nearly bled. Please Iggy, please, be respectful to listeners and never do another Aussie accent again, or at least until you’ve had some serious coaching and practice. It was bloody terrible to listen to, worse than the episode of the Simpsons Down Under! I do not know who made this decision, it's hard to believe that it was Keira given that Oz is her home away from home and she’s previously used Joel Leslie who is one of the only narrator’s that can pull it off. If it was Tantor, please read reviews (there are many written about this topic) and listen to what is being said, cast an Australian or someone that can do the accent! It's so disappointing that Australian voice actors are not given opportunities in this industry, especially by Australian authors or those that have travelled here extensively. This experience will turn me off Iggy for a while, which is probably not fair as he is usually a commendable narrator, however he surely knew that he missed the mark on this by millions of miles and therefore should not have taken the job. It was such a bad experience that it soured my other thoughts on the books. I should be saying how much I enjoyed Rafa and many of the details that the Author gets right about Australia, the only downside was that two major plot lines were very predictable but that still didn't stop my enjoyment.
