About this listen

Book 13 in the New Species series. It is advisable to read the books in order to get the most enjoyment from the series.

Vanni is furious when her fiancé tricks her into attending a conference where his father's church is protesting the New Species Organization. She hates everything those vile bigots stand for. Vanni goes to the bar to cool off and ends up seated next to a handsome New Species. Things heat up fast when they are both drugged.

Smiley doesn't want to believe the sweet human would dose them with the breeding drug. He's willing to trust her and determined to save her life. He'll hold her. Protect her. Offer up his body to distract them both from the pain. She is his female, even if she doesn't realize it yet.

A Romantica paranormal erotic romance from Ellora's Cave.

BOOK REVIEW
My review is no longer a verified one as I have the older published version of this book.
An involved review but reading the story will explain it without me giving spoilers.
In this story we find out more about the lengths some crazy, zealot, bigoted and uneducated humans will go too, to hurt, humiliate and embarrass New Species in the public’s eye.
Vanni was in the wrong place at the wrong time but it turned out to be the right place at the right time to meet and in certain ways save Smiley from being drugged and used as an example of New Species instability and how they are a danger to humans.
All New Species were in more danger from being hounded and persecuted by the press and other unstable humans.
Vanni is engaged to the wrong man who has a nutjob for a father and when she gets involved in a nasty plot against New Species her life changes. How she deals with the danger she is in was wonderful and very smart.
Smiley has been the happy go lucky primate that everyone loves for his happy disposition nearly from the start of this series. Secretly he has longed for a mate so he will have someone to hold and cuddle, species females do not like that.
A very lovely story about our sweet Smiley finding his mate but the nasty undertones of some bigoted humans is sad.
Loved the payback on the three horrible men at the end and even sweeter was the epilogue at reservation.
I have owned and read this series from the beginning and re-read it often. It never ceases to be enjoyable reading. I used to have a favourite but they are all superb in their own way.

His Mate!

Excellent story about a New Species and a Human female having been given mating drugs unbeknownst to them. This Series is good in either to read or Audio.

Excellent

Vanni is furious with Carl her fiancé who has tricked her into this weekend away to suck up to his father who is the head of Woods Church an adversary of New Species. When a seething Vanni goes to the bar she ends up sitting next to Smiley a New Species male and they chat hitting it off from word go but when they are both drugged things really change in a big way for them both. This is at times a laugh out loud story with some really nasty people doing nasty things that made me angry but when you mix in the scorching hot sexual chemistry it becomes a really good story and I highly recommend it and the series as a whole.

Smiley: New Species review

Laurann really kept us waiting for this book, throughout the other book we heard snippets about Smiley and that just kept me wanting to read a book all about him and him story. And finally book number 13 was made and fill our need for more about Smiley.
I would recommend this book to anyone that has the free time to get stuck into this on going series.
