About this listen

The scientist Wren Fisher was aboard the Eleanor in part because she was reckless: her indiscretions led to her losing a position as a university professor. She was brilliant but impulsive, and she had a reputation for letting sexual appetite overcome her better judgment.

Captain Rodriguez is not sure exactly what to make of what is the most bizarre and worrisome story she has ever heard. It had been discovered, first hand by Wren Fisher, that the plantimal could mate with and impregnate a human woman. The video footage of this event is the craziest thing Rodriguez has ever seen - and having fought in the Rigil Kentaurus wars, she has seen some pretty freakish things by earthling standards. The event itself was odd enough, but then Wren had quite rapidly, within seven hours, gestated to what looked like a normal seven or eight months into pregnancy, and she seemed to be adopting characteristics of the tree.

When the crew land on another planet to find and experiment on the plantimals, what, or who, will get taken hard and impregnated this time?
