About this listen

Book one - Samson’s Lovely Mortal

Vampire bachelor Samson can’t get it up anymore. Not even his shrink can help him. That changes when the lovely mortal auditor Delilah tumbles into his arms after a seemingly random attack. Suddenly, there’s nothing wrong with his hydraulics - that is, as long as Delilah is the woman in his arms.

Book two - Amaury's Hellion

Vampire Amaury LeSang is cursed to feel everybody’s emotions like a permanent migraine. The only way to alleviate the pain is through sex. When he meets the feisty human woman Nina, a cure for his ailment seems within reach: In her presence, all pain vanishes. Unfortunately, Nina is out to kill him because she believes he’s involved in her brother’s death.

Book three - Gabriel’s Mate

After Maya is turned into a vampire against her will, vampire and Scanguards bodyguard Gabriel is charged with protecting her and finding her attacker.

Book four - Yvette’s Haven

After being kidnapped by a vampire hunter, vampire bodyguard Yvette’s first instinct is to kill the bastard. But before she gets the chance, she realizes that he was double-crossed by the witch he was working for and now is in as much danger as she is.

Book five - Zane’s Redemption

The last thing vampire bodyguard Zane wants to do is to guard Portia - a hybrid: half-vampire, half-human - whose father wants to keep her a virgin. Known for his violent temper and callous lack of compassion, Zane’s out-of-control rage, born of the cruelty he suffered during the Holocaust, drives him to focus only on revenge.

Book six - Quinn’s Undying Rose

Vampire bodyguard Quinn has lived the last 200 years as a playboy, trying in vain to forget the only woman he has ever loved: his human wife Rose, who he believes to be dead. But Rose is very much alive.

Love this series.

Love this series as it is entertaining. All books reviewed separately.
01 - SAMSON’S LOVELY MORTAL
AUDIBLE REVIEW
Thoroughly enjoyed the story in audible but just didn’t like the narrators interpretation of Delilah.
She sounds too wishy washy and my perception of her when reading the book, was of a strong capable woman. And some of the other characters sounded similar to each other.
A bit annoying to have to pay full price for the audible version having purchased the book.
BOOK REVIEW
What a great read and the start of what looks like a fantastic series. Samson and Delilah, that makes me grin just to start off.
They met in the weirdest way and I loved the stripper mix up.
Samson runs a vampire bodyguard slash security business. he is having a problem that is driving him insane, until he meets Delilah and mistakes her for a stripper.
Delilah is a top notch accountant sent to find out about embezzlement that is happening in Samson’s business.
A lot happens in this book and you have to keep reading to find out what is going to happen next.
Loved the story and thought it was hilarious when they went to see the vampire shrink and Delilah tore a strip of him.
We meet a hell of a lot of interesting characters and I cannot wait to read all their stories.
Have owned the older version books for ages, have read and reviewed them previously but reviews posted from the back of a book do not seem to stay. Never a hardship to reread.
02 - AMAURY’S HELLION
AUDIBLE REVIEW
Narrator has trouble doing female voices.
Didn’t like Nina as much in audible as I did reading the book, maybe because she seems meaner, rather than on a crusade.
Didn’t realise how much sex was in this book.
Unfortunately the narrator does Nina’s voice exactly the same as he did Delilah’s in book one.
Listened to this in the box set.
BOOK REVIEW
Amaury has a gift which is really a curse. He feels what everyone else is feeling.
The only times his mind quiets is when he is having sex, so he has sex A LOT. The term manwhore may have been coined for him.
Nina is trying to kill Amaury as she believes he is responsible for her brother’s death. The only problem is when she is around, Amaury has peace and quiet.
What follows is an interesting game of cat and mouse. Throw in some excitement and kidnapping and a few twists and you get a great read.
I loved Amaury in book 1 but in his own book his darkness comes across much more.
I loved that Nina was a kick butt woman who could look after herself but I felt she wasn’t as strong as you are meant to think she is. Seemed to get in trouble an awful lot.
A great ending in this book which will lead nicely to book 3 and we spend more time with these great characters. I felt sorry for Luther, hope he gets his story one day with a HEA.
Have owned the older version books for ages, have read and reviewed them previously but reviews posted from the back of a book do not seem to stay. Never a hardship to reread.
03 - GABRIEL’S MATE
AUDIBLE REVIEW
Enjoyable but I have to stop every once in a while, as the female voices all sound the same.
BOOK REVIEW
Loved this sad and yet happy emotional read.
Gabriel’s first wife Jane, or should I say bride, as she was never a wife, was a really nasty bitch. Jane was the monster.
Poor Gabriel, he saves Maya’s life and she thinks he’s a monster too at the start.
This stupidity is a bit of a pity as Maya is a doctor and should know better about scars. Though understandable, her mad thoughts about being kidnapped by the mafia and crazy behaviour on awakening make a liar of her being calm and sensible. Glad that this phase soon passed.
Lack of honest communication is annoying. Once they stopped dancing around each other and actually talked like adults, things improved. Before this point it was like watching two teenagers with a crush.
Apart from being a stubborn ostrich about his feelings for Maya, which I could sort of understand after all his years of fear and abuse, I loved Gabriel. He was a good man if stubbornly stupid about being honest with Maya.
So glad he found Maya and what they have together is so special and unique as are they. Loved that twist.
Cried about Carl.
Bit too easy to work out who the Rogue was.

04 - YVETTE’S HAVEN
AUDIBLE REVIEW
Enjoyable and entertaining but Yvette still came across as annoyingly WOE IS ME. It is even worse in audible.
BOOK REVIEW
Loses a star for Yvette's WOE IS ME attitude.
Not one of my favourites and I put this all down to Yvette and her woe is me attitude that persists all through the book. We have sort of met her in previous books and especially in the previous book. Yvette has been capable and smart if somewhat nasty to the other female lead due to jealousy.
Her indecision and belief that a man will only want her to produce offspring is a slap in the face to other women who cannot have children but have fulfilling lives.
Loved Haven and felt for what he had gone through in his childhood. Great that he ends up with a new sister in Kimberly. What he sacrificed to stop the corruption of the power of three was heroic.
The ending with the witch Francine who we also met in book 3 was something you knew was going to happen.
Loved having Zane be a big part of this book and bravo Zane for acting so quickly.

05 - ZANE’S REDEMPTION
AUDIBLE REVIEW
Really like Zane in audible and felt more sad for Portia.
BOOK REVIEW
Zane has always been a bit of a cold character but we find out why in his story.
He shows a softness towards Portia but his past keeps a firm grip on him, to his detriment.
Poor Zane. What a horrible life he has had, always hunting a special enemy for revenge and slowly losing his grip on his control.
Portia has big problems and when her father hires Scanguards to protect her, but really to stop her running away and thwarting his plans for her.
When Portia tries to explain what is going on, no one but Zane believes her when she tells them what is going on.
Zane goes on the run with Portia to save her but it all goes wrong when the past interferes and Zane reacts badly.
What a shock Zane gets when he finds out who Portia’s father is. Fate has a cruel sense of humour.
Loved the ending with Portia giving him back a piece of his past.
06 - QUINN’S UNDYING ROSE
Dislike Rose and Quinn forgave Rose way to easily.
This book is a big letdown to the series. It just wasn’t believable due to the expanse of time that had passed and Rose naivety.
Like the rest of the series I have read this book more than once and I still cannot get my head around Rose’s deceit and selfishness.
Rose and Quinn were married but when Quinn is turned into a vampire against his will, she throws him out. Poetic justice arrives in that Rose is then attacked and turned by the same horrible vampire who attacked Quinn, but instead of telling Quinn and asking for forgiveness, she fakes her death.
The reasons Rose gave for faking her death and not contacting Quinn was so poor as to be laughable. Maybe when everything first happened her behaviour and thinking had validation but come on, TWO HUNDRED years later Rose knew better how the vampire community worked.
Her lack of contact and failure to tell Quinn he had a child was extremely poor.
Quinn only finds out Rose is alive when she hires Scanguards to protect their however many great grands-son Blake who is human.
I didn't like Rose nor did I feel any chemistry between them.
Quinn is portrayed as this womanising manwhore but this is due to how Rose treated him and his belief in her death.
Rose never brings this part of his life up and it is never discussed. Is she just going to ignore all the woman he slept with when they run across them back in New York?

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
