Justice Volkov is the youngest Alpha Zenith to ever lead the wolf shifters. Following in his father's large paw prints was a responsibility he met head on. Now at age 33, he is alpha of the alphas. Justice takes his role of leadership and his legacy very seriously. He has little time for romance, not to mention a true mate. His packs are his priority. With a human government trying to regulate them, an uprising of rogue shifters, and a violent team of scientists trying to experiment on them, Justice has his hands way too full.
Chadwick "Wick" Bentley is not enthusiastic when the captain of his escort tells him he has to leave his comfortable London home and go back to the States. As the Vampire King, he has no choice but to get his species back in line before they cause anymore chaos. At over 100 years old, Wick is no one to trifle with, but his smooth, charismatic manner makes him quite unique, despite the negative reputation vampires have. Wick has had nothing but time up to this point. He doesn't feel the need to make issues pressing. Nothing is urgent in his life. Until he meets Justice. His beloved.
"Natural enemies can't be mates." Or so Justice thought. He knows his skepticism and rejection is hurting his mate, so while he fights their connection, Wick gets help from a source very close to Justice to help him win his beloved's heart. Wick is a force all on his own, but when he's blessed with a special gift from the Mother herself, not even Justice's powerful wolf can prevent the prophesy from being fulfilled.

the first in a series of three this shifter vampire mm romance is action packed and well worth your time.

Enjoyable listen
Loved the first 2hrs, thought this section of the story was well written. And then it seemed to drift off with too much of a focus on the relationship of the new mates. Maybe we will learn more and see a bit more action in the next books in the series. Loved the narration.

Passionate but Lacks Quality
The performance was easily 5 stars! And the plot had potential to be 5 stars! But the plot was somewhat forgotten and writing itself just wasn’t the quality I was expecting! So 3 stars for story! Still enjoyed it due to the passionate performance, how much I loved the characters, and the plot potential therefore between 5 and 3 and I give it a 4! Great for if you want a quick guilty pleasure story I suppose. Unsure if I will continue the series though! :)

2nd time around
love love love this series, but special Wick and Justice.
Such a beautiful love story.
2nd time listening to it and I fell in love with All the characters again.

Wanted to like it, but didn't. Just...boring. There was too much internal monologue to explain what the characters were experiencing rather than using dialogue or character interaction to do so. I would encourage the author to review authors that do this well, like Ilona Andrews.
Recommend a solid edit and a talented editor /publisher.

Great ideas and audio but let down by the writing!
Justice Volkov is the Alpha Zenith—he rules all the Alphas and their wolf packs. The uneasy truce between shifters and the vampires appears to be crumbling as skirmishes break out across America. Justice is determined to leave peacefully and requests a meeting with Chadwick Bentley, the Vampire King. Both men are astonished to find they are true mates and that Mother Nature has preordained their union to forestall another shifter-vampire war. Wick has other unique secrets and even he doesn’t know their full extent.
The ideas were all here but the writing was a real letdown. The sheer amount of pages given to the relationship absolutely swamped the other plot lines rendering them superficial and trivial. Any fights or obstacles were overcome in seconds while scenes like when Wick makes Justice a chicken sandwich ran on for pages. A major obstacle was resolved off-page in a few sentences. There were also a lot of contradictions and inconsistencies, where we are told one thing only to be shown the opposite later. I don’t think AE Via’s books are generally well-edited and I usually can roll with it but couldn’t here. 🎧 The best thing about this was Nathaniel Black’s brilliant audio narration, his accents and emotion were superb (the first two audios are currently free on the Audible Plus catalogue)!
