I don't know what I was expecting going into this book but I was so pleasently surprised. Although having alot to do with religion, it was the personal dialogue and emotions that that ran this book and I have to say, I don't think any other narrator could have performed this role more perfectly. He really made it feel like he was telling the story as though it was his own. The spice was so good and the ending was perfection.

Holy moly! I downloaded this after seeing it multiple times in my #Booktok recommendations so I was wary and went in with few expectations. I was surprised that there was a great plot and the spice was well written. The narrators do a great job of bringing it to life.

I mean firstly this book was like 80% smut IMO, not that it was a bad thing. It’s just that the plot to spice ratio wasn’t quite what I expected… I thought there’d be more depth to their desire rather than their connection being so physical/sex based, but alas it did come across as two hot people being drawn together in lust. Yet still enjoyable, and a very memorable story. The journey Tyler goes on was well written, and spice was phenomenal.

The audiobook was mostly great, especially with Jacob Morgan narrating it (as you cannot go wrong with him) but the editors let down the audio production as there were way too many swallowing noises towards the beginning (most noticibly in chapter 3 I think it was) that they should have cut out, and too often I could hear him take a deep breath in through his nose in an off-putting way (almost like I wanted him to clear his nose or something?).
Also I didn’t think the female narrator was super well suited to Poppy’s character, but at least only like 10% of the book was done with her voice, plus I don’t know who would’ve been better anyway.

In short; it didn’t quite live up the hype IMO, but was it was still it worthwhile and HOT AF? Absolutely!
