About this listen
A nude man invades Luca Suarez's home and protects him from creatures who cannot exist. Creatures hunting him.
The stranger can't tell Luca why. He can't even tell Luca his name. He remembers nothing until the moment he sees Luca. The only hint Luca has to the stranger's identity is a tattoo on his wrist: "N o X".
Nox doesn't know who he is, but he's sure of three things, his memory loss is temporary, the monsters chasing Luca are called Anubis, and his Alpha, Koda, sent Nox to protect him. There's just one problem.... Koda is Luca's brother who was murdered five years ago.
With each passing hour, Nox fills in the pieces painting an impossible truth. And with each passing hour, both men find themselves inexplicably attracted to each other. Something Luca is willing to embrace because he has nothing left to lose. And one Nox can't let happen because it could get Luca killed.
Contains mature themes.

Story
Clever. Intriguing. Unique Pack.
Adrienne Wilder is a fantastic storyteller and that’s evidenced by the tale spun in NoX.
Two arcs lead to intersection around a company playing god. The New World Genetics facility in Utah has a major event when their created alpha, Koda Suarez, is killed by a beta and that very powerful, very determined beta turns up at a sick young man’s home because he has to protect him above all else.
The military pulls an ex New World scientist out of his steady life at 3am to help then discover what has happened in Utah and why.
This all leads to cat and mouse games, a road trip and some deadly new players.
NoX is gripping, has some nice scientific backbone and some primal sex as well. A new spin on a we’re pack by Wilder is interesting, engaging and often had me on the edge of my seat.
Kirt Graves has some distinct voices to work with and did a great job of bringing them all to life.
Adrienne Wilder has never let me down. I’m now looking forward to Anubis, book #2 which has not long been released.

Great, a wild ride of sci-fi and the supernatural!
Luca Suarez has no reason to trust or go with the naked man who tells him he is in danger, but when the beasts attack, he has little choice. Nox can’t remember much other than the command to protect Luca, but he’ll fight to protect Luca’s life. This hugely enjoyable action-thriller romance is a great blend of sci-fi and fantasy involving evil scientists, ancient powers, and high passion. I love a good chase road trip and I was on tenterhooks a lot. Be prepared to live with confusion and lots of technobabble, the characters are all trying to work out what’s going on, so there’s a slow reveal of the facts. Luca’s memory doesn’t come back to him in an ordered way, so his flashbacks don’t make sense at first - be patient because the wild ride is worth it and most of it will become clear. There is a lot of death and mayhem, but I never found the descriptions gratuitously graphic. The story is fully resolved with no cliffhanger but there’s small lead-in to Anubis, the next book. Audio narrator Kirt Graves was, of course, fantastic and I can’t wait for him to record the second book!

left wanting
Nox by Adrienne wilder. I loved the concept of this book and the characters but really didn't like that we didn't find out some major plot points to a bit into the book. I got bored reading this and didn't really perk my interest again to the epilogue
