About this listen

A long time ago, Joel Wentworth told me he'd love me for infinity...and I can't give up hope that it might have been true.

How long does it take to get over your first love?

Eight years should be long enough. My mind knows that, but there's no convincing my heart.

Guys like Joel weren't supposed to fall for girls like me. He had his pick of women at University, but somehow the laws of nature were defied and we fell crazy in love.

After graduation, Joel left to pursue his career in New York. He wanted me to go with him but my life was in London.

We broke up and my heart split in two.

I haven't seen or spoken to him since he left.

If only I'd known that I'd love him this long, this painfully, this desperately. I might have said yes all those years ago. He might have been mine all this time in between.

Now, he's moving back to London and I need to get over him before he gets over here.

But how do I forget someone who gave me so much to remember?

Sweet story

I enjoyed the story overall, but did find the back and forth between Past and Present a little Confusing at times.

Self Belief and True Love

What a beautiful story, of arriving at self belief to recognise that others truly believe in you and love you too, just as you are and how, without it those opportunities to love are eroded/diminished.

But with Ava and Joel their connection and true love always stayed.

Thank you Louise I truly loved this book and the narration was divine.

Captivating

Even though you will the story along it will leave you totally satisfied. The past present chapters works well as you are guessing what it might be that happens between Ava & Joel
Narrators did a great job depicting a sexy romance that feels relatable. haven’t we all been an awkward young adult with someone that you thought you weren’t good enough to be with? We all get too much in our own heads to see what is real and what could be if only we let it. This story reminds us to go for it.

Nice

Hopeful was an interesting story line. It was well narrated sometimes it seem to repeat it self. I thought it went backwards and forwards a bit too much for me it interrupted the flow. it was a very enjoyable tale.

Hopeful

This would have to be the worst book that this author has written, it just goes over and over it grates on you, so disappointing..

meh

The narration is often monotonous. I started skipping chapters. Unless you are in to long lost love stories pick something else.

Disappointing

All the characters are a bit toxic. The big dramatic breakup that it builds to is underwhelming, and so is the reunion. The pining is laid on VERY thick. The ‘friends’ are jerks and this is never addressed. The heroin ends up taking all the blame when she did the right thing! Honestly the idea was ok but the execution was bad. Read Louise Bay’s other works instead, this one isn’t up to her usual standard.
