About this listen
Hunter Diaz scraped and fought his way out of the gangs of East LA to serve honorably as a SEAL in the United States Navy. When his adopted grandmother tells him his childhood sweetheart is in trouble back home, he returns to the place he vowed to leave firmly in the past.
Aliana Novak spent most of her school years being bullied. Her only refuge was Hunter Diaz, until the day he graduated and left her to deal with the tormentors herself. Those horrific experiences molded her into what she is today and made her the perfect candidate for vice principal of one of the toughest schools in East LA. As she fights for her students to live the best lives they can, she is targeted by one of the most dangerous gangs in the city.
Hunter expects to find the same awkward and fragile girl he once knew, instead he finds a beautiful and strong woman who is willing to risk anything for the children under her care. As Hunter tries to rekindle the deep feelings they once had for one another, Aliana withdraws further into herself. What happened to her while he was gone? Can Hunter break down her walls and prove to her he is still her knight in shining armor before she ends up dead?
Contains mature themes.

Caitlyn has done better
Caitlyns Night Storm books were better. I don't know what it is with some of the author's I read, but as soon as they go domestic, their plots always seem to pale in comparison.
Kris Michaels is the only author I've read that has pulled it off as far as edgy and angst goes on home soil . even Susan Stoker stumbles with homeland plots. buts that's just my opinion.
in this book, Caitlyn kept the grit with setting and characters but I felt that the Heroine was a bit too stubborn for the length of the book. the storyline moved at a good pace and I think she needed to come around quicker, either that or lengthen the book so as to grasp depth.
this was a 2nd chance type of Romance with some military and as the chapters neared the end the story quickened to a conclusion. it wasn't raced as much as jumping ahead in large amounts of time.
there was no steam scenes in here so if you like to have a bit of sizzle, you don't find it here , albeit at the last possible moment we get some mild glow.....
as for Aiden Snow well he's voice is sex on a stick and it's not very hard to listen to him. I will always pick up a book that he's narrates, his accents are awesome and makes it easy to decipher character to character.
