About this listen
What would you do if you could control time?
In a world where magic is outlawed, Eona has been hiding her true nature all her life, only using it to make her circus performances even more spectacular. She's always known that her ability to manipulate time could make her a target, but she couldn't have prepared for being kidnapped, manipulated, and imprisoned.
After weeks in prison, the Royal sorcerer, Lassadar, offers her a way out by training her. But can she trust the King's right-hand man?
In order to figure out what he wants from her, she needs to explore her own magic, the bond she feels with a mythical creature, and the feelings she has for a beautiful elven woman.
Contains mature themes.

Magic with a dash of romance
Great escapist reading, beautiful imagery of mythical creatures and well considered plot. Very much only teasing the love plot line as the cliffhanger.

Slow To Start, Quick To Finish
The author did a good job of expanding the universe they were trying to build for the reader. There was a lot of external lore away from the character that tried to give you clues to why story was progressing the way it was. However, the character was lost in building the environment they lived in.
The protagonist spent a lot of her time being weak to the point it was mildly frustrating how she handled situations. She was missing something throughout the entire story, but this may have been due to the opening story.
The love interest in the story shows up in the last 80% of the book, and their interactions are not romantic until their last exchange. It didn't feel genuine as the author didn't expand on their imprisonment forcing their bond.
There are mild references to threats of assault against the protagonist throughout the book, for anyone sensitive to that topic.
