About this listen

Peyton Price - Given an assignment to write an article on an outlaw motorcycle club, what award-winning journalist would say no? Not me. I had a weakness for bad boys, tattoos, and men on motorcycles.

But Nick Navarro wasn't a typical biker. He wasn't even a typical outlaw.

Nick Navarro - As president of the Filthy F--kers MC, I was offered an opportunity to be interviewed by a local journalist. I didn't accept for the notoriety or the publicity. I agreed to do it in hope of getting a shot at the 27-year-old p---y between the journalist's legs.

She had plans to get in and get out, and do so quick.

But once I lay claim to something, it's mine.

Until I decide otherwise.

Hard is a stand-alone MC romance with no cheating, no sex outside the relationship, and no cliffhanger. It has an HEA, and although it is book one of a series, no other book is required to tell this tale.

Trigger warning

I do like this series even though some parts are hard to hear. ‘Trigger warning’
The ending of this one however I felt was a flop.

Well Written

Loved this book, listened to it all in one sitting. Love it shines light on a massive issue - not all tattooed bikers are bad just as not all men in suits are honest and good. Was a great read - passionate and exciting

Hit and Miss

This was a weird experience, I spent a lot of time baffled that it was actually written by a guy, the MMC POV came across fake, trying too hard to be aplha, as if it was written by a woman that had read too many really bad MC books or none at all. The male narration didn't help. The FMC POV was Hit and Miss, at times the author got it right and the narration wasn't too bad. The need to explain the obvious in terms of the outlaw MC world and all that goes with it was amateur and insulting to the reader, most readers know this genre well and don't need everything spelled out to them, The overuse of the word bitch was annoying and didn't fit when they discussed Peyton. Again, the dialogue was hit and miss. There was no world building to FFMC's inner sanctum, no real introduction to other club members besides Pee Bee. We got a decent sense of who Peyton and Nick were, a rape scene and the graphic justice delivered, but there was just a lot missing and a lot that didn't work or flow. I'll give the next book a go because I find Pee Bee mildly amusing and it's free on plus catalogue. Hoping for better writing and a stronger story !
