Publisher's Summary
She’s the one girl I can’t have, and the only one I want …
A notorious ladies' man falls first – and falls hard – for his best friend's sister. Welcome to Magnolia Falls, perfect for fans of Elsie Silver, Lucy Score and B.K. Borison!
***
Saylor Woodson is my best friend's little sister, and she's completely off limits.
We have a history, a connection – one that no one else knows about. I've kept my distance for years, it was easy when she was away at school. But now she's home, and she's everywhere I turn. And the way that I want her is unexplainable.
So, I do everything in my power to keep my distance, because her brother is my best friend. My family. But the pull is too strong. I want to claim her and keep her and make her mine.
Once we cross that line in the sand, I'm drowning in this girl and can't find my way up for air. Guilt hangs over me like a dark cloud, but I can't seem to walk away, no matter how hard I try.
And now that I've had a taster of forever, I'm willing to risk everything to keep it.
Tropes:
Brother's best friend
Small town
Found family

Beautiful 🫶🏽✨
I truly love this family. Their survival. Through everything they have gone through . They changed their stars and made it . To find out your bestie is your true love . Perfect . I can’t wait for the next instalment. I especially love listening to CJ and Jason who did a fabulous job bringing this story to life ✨🫶🏽✨🫶🏽✨

Not as enjoyable as others in the series.
I have been following this series and enjoying it. However I didn't enjoy this as much. I think it was the 'humour' in it, which made it more romantic comedy at times. I preferred the more serious heartfelt tone of the others.
The 'humour' I refer to were particularly the description of the heroine visiting her father's second family. This was just silly and over the top. Also the bee sting incident and unlikely scene involving the heroine hiding behind a shower curtain.
Also, though it wasn't funny, but after a focus on the heroine's abusive stepfather throughout, it seemed highly unlikely the guy just meekly accepted his wife telling him she was kicking him out,
I also found there wasn't as much complexity and substance in this story... mostly a lot of repetition about they can't be together as she's the friends little sister.
I will probably listen to the next one and accept that others may have liked the comedic moments.
Narration was good.
