About this listen

This book contains explict language and descriptions of sexual activity and is intended for adults only.

This novelette first appeared as a serialized novelette in several issues of The Pearl, an underground magazine of erotica that was published during the Victorian age. Flunkeyania is a steamy classic of erotic literature.

The Victorian age was one of sexual repression, and books like this were written as a kind of pushback to official mores. The books and stories were wildly popular of course, even though often written anonymously for fear of reprisal. The original title of this piece was, Flunkeyania: Or Belgravian Morals. Belgravia is a district in Central London. It’s one of the wealthiest districts in the world. This is where a young man, a servant in a house of nobility, experiences a long string of sexual adventures, with all types of women - rich and poor.

Flunkeyania was first published 1879-1880. Other erotica novels that appeared in The Pearl ( all available as audiobooks ) are: Lady Pokingham, La Rose D'Armour, and My Grandmother's Tale.
