About this listen

When unrequited love leaves Dylan Hart sleepless and nursing his wounds, instinct draws him to the one place he's found mindless respite in the past - Lovato's. It's a place for every fantasy, where a night of insane NSA sex brings relief.

It should be a perfect escape, and for one magical night it seems that way, but then worlds collide, and reality bites when Dylan's hookup desperately needs a friend. Surely Dylan can't trust his instincts when friendship has bruised his heart so badly before?

The deck is stacked against former ballet dancer Angelo Giordano ever finding real love. At least visiting Lovato's offers respite from a life defined by illness; a glimmer of light in the dull gray of his so-called life without dance. But then he encounters Dylan, who makes his heart pound once more with purpose.

Angelo's mind is blown by this man, but the disease that ended his career won't let him bask in new love. He's drowning, and Dylan can't save him while insecurities swamp them both. The only way to make it means confronting their demons. If Dylan can turn his back on the past, and Angelo can face his uncertain future, maybe they can chase their dreams together.

Contains mature themes.

Found Love

I really enjoyed this story and the characters, the build the steam, understanding the pain and how it affects everyone,
New author for me and I’ll definitely be looking out for more.
The narrator did a fabulous job, I enjoyed his voice and how he portrayed the characters.
Well worth listening to
Be aware male/male love.

Two beautiful, struggling men support each other!

Financial advisor Dylan Hart doesn’t cope well with the stress of his job and usually opts for booze or steamy nights at Lovato’s, a sex club. One night Dylan has an encounter at Lovato’s with Angelo Giordano and neither man is able to forget the other. When Angelo seeks financial advice for his ailing family deli, both men realise who the other is and agree to meet up at Lovato’s again (and again). As a relationship forms, Dylan starts to comprehend the physical problems Angelo experiences but can they overcome their difficulties to make it work?

I really liked this FWB-to-lovers romance. I guess the Skins series about the different identities and struggles we all carry. At one point Dylan thinks to himself, “… that they (both) came to the table with more than one skin” and I appreciated how they had to hang in there to see each other’s different layers. Garrett Leigh can be overly angsty at times, but this wasn’t too harrowing. Both men were decent guys who struggle with life and I loved watching them overcome their issues to support each other. I also liked the exploration of ME/CFS and how it affects the mind as well as the body. Be aware that this isn’t a standard romance, Angelo and Dylan are joined by a third at times and you get the feeling that might still happen in the future. 🎧 UK voice actor Shaun Grindell handled the dialogue perfectly—he does a great line in accents. However, he narrates the non-dialogue parts with a reading rhythm that I find distracting.
