Publisher's Summary
My name is Ace Bissett, and I’m a paranormal detective who doesn’t believe in magic.
Or at least, I didn’t before I met them.
The day I inherited my aunt’s old house, everything changed. One moment, I was convinced that magic was a hoax. The next, I’m surrounded by four winged, fanged, ridiculously hot guys who are definitely not human, and who insist that I'm the only one who can break the curse that binds them to the night.
I know I should run far, far away from this hot mess, but there's a connection between us I can't deny. I'm seeing things I can't explain, feeling things that don't make sense. The detective in me has never been able to resist a mystery, and this one is just begging me to dig in.
But all that will have to wait, because there’s a new threat stalking my city. One with a taste for blood and bone, unable to be killed or captured by normal human means.
It’s a good thing I’ve got four new roommates to help me hunt them down. But even if I didn’t, I’d figure out a way. Because I never give up. I never give in. And I always protect what’s mine.

Holy hot wings!
Please note that despite my below comments I do plan on listening to the second book when it comes out.
Early on in this book I was worried it would turn into a bit of a Christianity promotion and had the thought to give up on it there. But I kept with it and was surprised that I did enjoy it. I wasn't expecting much from the synopsis but what I enjoyed most was the magic and detective work and not the romance, which was was I wanted from this book.
The men are cliche and there is no real logic to some things (someone who's used to food in the 12th century isn't going to love 21st century American pizza. I'm sorry but it's true. And for someone who's literal job is to find rational/scientific explanations for supposably magical events she knows insanely little about how 21st century technology works.)
I also had to wonder at the sex scenes. I mean the foreplay was hot, but there were moments where it just seems rushed. Almost 90% foreplay and only 10%(or less) actual intercourse. I don't know if it's just my own bias, if that's how it was ment to be written or if it's the authors own experience but I feel like there is a lot of waisted potential and it made me roll my eyes at times.
Like I said to start, I am keen for the second book to find out what she does with the house and how her magic develops.
