About this listen
Addison Godwin is a nonglam - one of the one in 10,000 humans who is immune to vampire glamour and mind tricks. Her gift enables her to work as an auditor, enforcing the law that vampires and humans keep their distance from each other except in a purely nonphysical way. The law is necessary because when a vampire tries to have sex with a human, their bloodlust combines with their sexual appetite, and the result looks like roadkill.
Alec Corbin is a four-star master vampire with piercing blue eyes and intentions to get Addison into his bed. He promises he can be gentle, but Addison has seen way too many vamp/human crime scenes to go for that. She has no interest in the six-foot-four hunk of sexy vampire man candy, even if he is supernaturally hot.
But just because she audits (and sometimes executes) vampires for a living doesn't mean she hates them all. Her best friend, Taylor, was turned against her will. Now living as a slave to one of the crueler master vamps in town, she leads a miserable existence, and Addison is helpless to save her within the confines of the law.
Things come to a head when the vampire inquisitor comes to town, and Taylor is given to him as a sex slave. When Addison sees her best friend tortured, beaten, and burned with silver, she knows she has to do something - even if it means teaming up with Corbin and paying the crimson debt.
Contains mature themes.

Amazing!
I loved this book! I listened to this book as an audiobook and don't regret it. This goes into steamy scenes very quickly because the main thing this book concentrates on is the love between characters and how the two can be completely separate, shown when Addison reveals the abuse set on Taylor. I am also very excited to read the next book because this reveals how Taylor falls in love after the things she endures in this book. I definitely don't regret reading this book and would recommend it to those who like these genres. The audiobook of this book only has one narrator but that doesn't take away the amazing story in this book. I loved this book!

Great vampire-human romance
I am yet to listen to an audiobook by this author I haven't enjoyed. Evangeline is a great writer. I really like the creativity in her storylines. In terms of narration, I have listened to other audiobooks with this same narrator and I do enjoy their work. If you enjoy vampire romance and want something similar to Charlaine Harris work, this is a good option to try.

book 1, human and vampire
A human vampire auditor who can't be glamed needs to save her best friend who was glamed and turned against her will by a psychotic 3 star vampire..
She makes a deal with a powerful 4-star vampire to help her.
This story includes love, sacrifice, rape, magic, sole bonding, blood bonding, cursed weapons, quicky marriages, some hot sex scenes, humans, vampires, a witch and a werewolf.
I loved the writing and the narration, and I am looking forward to the next book.

Stupidity does not equate to bravery
There is a scene in this book that frustrated me to no end. The protagonist antagonised the antagonist because she wants to give him a piece of her mind. It was frustrating because everyone knew she could not fight him in any capacity, but she did and almost ended up dead. So frustratingly stupid.

vamps yes human no
Not badly written, I like the vampire characters but the human FMC is a pain who substitutes being argumentative for a personality. did not finish, unfortunately. it could have been fun but she is too annoying
