About this listen

The Epic of Gilgamesh is one of the oldest pieces of literature that dates to around the Third Dynasty of Ur in early Sumerian times, approximately 2150-2000 BC. The Epic is a poem that was preserved in Cuneiform on clay tablets and translated to eventually be what we read in current times. The tale is about the King of Uruk, Gilgamesh, and his adventures with his companion Enkidu, who was sent to calm the tyrant King. But this is not that story.

This is the retailing of the seven days of Enkidu’s transformation from wild man to civilized companion. It is told from the point of view of Shamhat, the harlot who was sent to seduce Enkidu into manhood. This is not reflective of the actual original text, but a creation from the imagination of the author of what she envisions happened during those erotic days of primal sex in the wilderness. This is not a companion book to be studied in class. It contains descriptive sex scenes that are not for the faint of heart. Your humanities professor would die if he knew you were listening to this smut, so dive into the world of the original prostitute with the heart made of gold.

A steamy tale of how Shamhat tamed the wild man Enkidu.
